A Concise History of Scotland
If you are looking for a basic background knowledge of Scotland presented in a lass dry format, you found it.
Review for audiobook format: I found this audiobook history of Scotland to be an interesting and very soothing listen. The material history was presented in an engaging way. The narrator has a very soothing cadence, allowing me to relax. This made the history of the clans and progression into more modern times exactly what I wanted for the purpose I had in mind.

Stuart Connection
I feel like I understand the monarchy connection to England so much better due to the chapters leading up to Stirling Castle and the Stuarts. I had to pause and do my own research on the Castle and newly formed city and began to understand the geography of the central belt. The religious division of Scotland also began to make more sense to me. I always find it interesting that the Vikings and Normands are classified as 2 separate groups, when really the Viking also conquered Normandy. This book was easy to read and a great timeline and starting point that will lead me into further inquiries about Scotland.
Ancestors
I loved learning the good, bad and the ugly of Scotland’s history. A unique people indeed.
